A design leader, strategist, and advocate - creating experiences that delight.
Hi! I'm Hassaan Waqar.
Aug 2023 - May 2025
Masters in UX Design
Purdue University
Pursuing a Masters degree in UX Design at the renowned Purdue University in Indiana, USA, enrolled within the Computer Graphics Technology department.

My work has focused on the integration of AI within design workflows. I have led 10+ design projects over the semesters involving a variety of design tools and processes. These range from qualitative research to physical and digital prototyping, to website design and interactive artifacts.

I am expected to graduate in May 2025.
Aug 2023 - May 2025
Graduate Instructor
Purdue Polytechnic Institute
Teaching 2 sections of an undergraduate course called Design Thinking in Technology. The course introduces students to the design thinking process through project-based learning.

I focus on flexible learning methods and individual attention to ensure each student develops a deeper understanding of the design thinking cycle, and appreciates the importance of placing users at the center of the design process.
Feb 2024 - Nov 2024
Project Design Lead
Purdue Online - TRAIL
Led the design and development of an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) at Purdue University, funded by Purdue Online and Google LLC. The goals of the project were two-fold. We designed a playful experience for students to explore the capabilities of AI. We also built hype for an AI summit co-hosted by the sponsors in November 2024.

The ARG followed a mystery-driven narrative, and combined both digital and physical artifacts around campus. It heavily involved AI within the creation of assets, showcasing how AI can be leveraged across various use cases within design, education, and project delivery.

More than 500 students participated within the game.

Read more about the game within this article published by the College of Education at Purdue.
June 2022 - Aug 2023
Product Manager
Alt Ventures
Worked at Alt Ventures as a Product Manager, responsible for both product design and management.

Over a year's period, I led design sprints for 4 startups, creating their UX and GTM strategies, and tackled pressing problems with an eye for detail within diverse domains such as AI, public transport, live e-commerce and creator economy.

I created and tested 6+ fully functional Figma prototypes and MVPs in Bubble.io, and launched 3 GTM-validated Gen-AI products (context-specific avatar generation, voice-cloning, and GTM strategy generator).
 Aug 2018 - May 2022
Bachelors in Computer Science
LUMS University
Graduated in May 2022 as a Computer Science major with most of my works in HCI (Human Computer Interaction).

I completed 3 end-to-end design projects involving significant qualitative research (surveys, interviews, participatory design, and contextual inquiry), prototyping (low-fi and hi-fi), and user testing (usability, heuristics, A/B).

All of these involved designing technical solutions for modern problems such as ensuring digital privacy for children, fostering computational thinking within students from low-resourced public school, and promoting tele-rehabilitation in developing contexts.
Hi, this is me, Hassaan, exploring various landscapes in the US.
Hello again, I'm Hassaan.

Welcome to my corner.

I am a Master’s student in UX Design (Computer Graphics Technology) at Purdue University in the US. With over two years of experience and a strong background in computer science, I have led 15+ end-to-end design projects, transforming user insights into seamless, elegant solutions across multiple domains. I design intuitive, high-impact experiences by blending structured problem-solving with creativity.

In the past, I worked at Alt Ventures as a UX/Product Designer. I had the privilege of working alongside 5 early stage tech startups, designing and building their products, devising product and GTM strategies, and executing product launches. These included products within AI, e-commerce, public transport, and creator economy.

As a designer, I enjoy being a generalist, focusing on solving problems and strategizing enhanced user experiences. I value beautiful visuals backed by smart systems thinking. I love the concept that a digital product is a living thing that can adapt and evolve over time. Having worked hands-on on AI, I find myself fascinated within emerging AI trends and application to support users optimize their workflows and boost productivity.

Outside the world of design, I love to travel diverse landscapes, with mountains and coasts being my favorites. I love European architecture and the thought process behind some of its greatest works. I love interactive museums and tangible displays for their ability to immerse. I love documentaries based on real life events. And finally, I play soccer to stay physically fit, and chess to keep my mind active.

Graduating in May 2025, I am seeking full-time opportunities within UX Design and Product Management.
